Marugbo soup is a native soup made from Marugbo leaves and efinrin. You can find this soup among the Ondos, Ilajes, Idanres, Urhobos and Edos. It can be served with Eba, Amala, Pupuru, Fufu, rice or Pounded yam. 

The soup is rich in amino acids and minerals such as magnesium, potassium, selenium, zinc, iron, fibre, low in cholesterol and fats.

Marugbo leaves

Pepper fruit leaves/ewe igbee

Alligator pepper leaves/ewe itaye

Black pepper leaves/ewe ighere or uziza

Akintola

Garlic

Ginger

Palm oil

Scent leaf or efinrin

Meat

Smoked fish/fresh fish

Onion

Fresh pepper

Seasoning cube

Salt to taste.
